PhD Qualifying Examination "Survey of Scheduling in High-Performance Input Queued Switches" By Miss Jing Liu Abstract: The increase of bandwidth in connection networks makes it urgent to develop high-performance switches. Queuing and scheduling are two most important issues in modern switch designing. In the last couple of years, various scheduling algorithms for high-performance switches have been proposed. We present a brief survey of unicast and multicast scheduling algorithms in input queued switches and make a comparison on their computational complexity and performances.
