Speaker: Steven Willmott, Laboratoire d'Intelligence Artificielle, EPFL Lausanne. Abstract: Resource allocation tasks in communications networks involve challenging problems in the distribution of information and control. This talk outlines an adaptive organisational structure which supports coordination between agents autonomously performing QoS routing tasks. The agents are able to change organisational relationships over time to match the network state (their task environment). Experimental results show that the adaptive organisation significantly improves agent coordination and routing performance compared to an equivalent static organisational structure. The talk will cover the organisational techniques and their networking applications. Keywords: organisations, agents, mobile agents, ATM, PNNI, MPLS
