Ted Spaeth

Ted grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio in the US and studied Systems Analysis at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science in 1985, he went to work in a small nationwide business PC chain store in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1986 he worked for a small import/export company, and in 1987 he migrated to Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, he worked for small I.T. companies for 10 years, specializing in software testing, support, documentation, and marketing. In 1997, he started his own freelance I.T. consulting and online publishing company. In 2002, he retired from full-time work and switched to part-time English services and helping his children with their character development and school work. In 2008 he joined HKUST, where he has worked part-time to help computer science students improve their technical writing skills.

For the 2022-23 academic year, Ted is responsible for helping FYP groups HUATM1 to YIKE3 with their project reports.

Ted is a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. He enjoys studying and discussing the Bible and how it is applies to life today. He and his wife are avid hikers and enjoy the beautiful trails and scenery in Hong Kong.
