COMP3711H Exam Information


The class will have two Exams.
The exams are closed book (no material can be brought in).
The instructor will distribute a mathematical background sheet with the exam of items that do not have to be memorized.  A copy of this sheet will be posted on this website prior to the exam.

• Midterm
• Thursday,  October 20, 2016, from 19:00-21:00 in Room 2304
• Worth 30% of the final grade
• A copy of the mathematical background sheet that will be distributed with the exam is here (sheet updated Oct 15, 2016).
• The exam will cover everything taught up to October 13, 2014 including Topological Sort (but not further).  
• Here is a copy of the Exam  and a Sketch Solution Key
• Exams have been marked and are  available for pickup 
• Pickup will be in Room 3501. Times are
•  Thursday, October 27, 2-3PM
•   Friday, October 28, 10:30-11:30AM
  
• If you would like to appeal the marking of a question, please fill out the appeal form detailing your reason for requesting a grade change and hand it back   with your marked exam  to the TA AT THE PICKUP SESSION (once you take your exam out of the room you will not be able to file a later appeal so schedule  yourself some time to review your exam in the pick-up session).   Please check the Sketch Solution Key for a correct solution before submitting your appeal    

• Final
• Friday, December 16, 2016, from 4:30-7:30PM in LG3 Multipurpose Room (lift 6)
• Worth 40% of Final Grade
• A copy of the mathematical background sheet that will be distributed with the exam is here
• The exam  will cover everything taught up to and including November 29, 2016 with the exception of these three items that will NOT be on the exam 
•  Articulation Points 
•  The Space Saving Algorithm for LCS that was covered in the DP Odds and Ends
•  Randomized Primality Testing 
• The material that was taught after the midterm will be emphasized slightly  more than the material already covered by the midterm.  
• The instructor will be holding a Q&A review session 
• Thursday, December 8, 2016,  
• 2:45- 3:30PM 
• Room 5619  
• There will be no presentation at this session.  The purpose is to answer any questions you might have.

• There will be two sections at which you can check your Final .  Times are
• Monday, December 19, 1-3PM
• Venue will be announced on Monday morning
• Thursday, December 22nd,  9:30-11:30
• Room 3501
