"The Impact of Web Dynamics on Web Search Engines: A Survey"

Abstract:

The World Wide Web has become the largest hypertext in existence, which
provides an extremely rich collection of resources. Compared to
conventional sources of information, the Web is highly dynamic in size,
pages and link structure. Serving as the most popular tool for navigating
and retrieving the Web, Web search engines encounter big challenges in the
presence of Web dynamics. This survey looks at several dimensions of Web
dynamics and their impact on the development of Web search engines.
