Trivia:
The caption near the beginning states "Thursday February 12th", indicating that the dance will be on Saturday the 14th. That means Friday the 13th falls in between them. The Friday the 13th series was released by Paramount and the plot of My Bloody Valentine is similar to the Friday the 13th films.

A competent but unexceptional slasher., 28 October 2001

This is a competently made slasher film, featuring acceptable acting and a
tense final showdown between the killer and the remaining survivors. But
it's terribly routine! Very reminiscent of "Halloween" and "The Prowler",
and most of the killings occur offscreen. In fact, the only novelty here
may
be that the victims are not teenagers; they're pushing 30!
