[ Project Title: Building a Wireless Location-Based Application ] - Schedule

Project description and objectives:
Develop an application on a GPS-equipped PDA to track the locations of the users. Location data will be uploaded to a central database to support various location-based applications such as buddy finding and location-based alerts.

Things students will learn:
 
Gain hands-on experience with PDA, GPS and WLAN devices by putting them together to build an application. Understand the ideas and difficulties of buidling location-based applications at the conceptual level. Gain some programming experience on PDAs and the server side. The students will also learn the existing research prototypes - the objectives and research behind them - developed within our research group and potentially integrate their applicaiton into one of them.
Prerequisites:
  Students must have know programming, preferably in C or Java.
