Dr. Kai Chen and PhD Students Publish 2 Papers in ACM SIGCOMM 2016!

ACM SIGCOMM 2016

Dr. Kai Chen and his PhD students have been devoted to building practical datacenter networking systems (Figure 1) for big data applications and cloud computing in the past 4 years, ever since he joined us in July 2012. Recently, two of their system work CODA (an application-aware coflow identification and scheduling system) and KARUNA (a mix-flow scheduling system for commodity datacenters) have both been accepted by ACM SIGCOMM 2016. SIGCOMM is the annual flagship conference of ACM on the applications, technologies, architectures, and protocols for computer communication, which is widely recognized as one of the most challenging CS conferences. This is the first time for SIGCOMM to have first-authored papers from Hong Kong universities.
