HKUST CTF Invitational Successfully Concludes

On January 21, 2024, the first HKUST Firebird CTF Competition, hosted by the HKUST CSE Department and Firebird CTF Team, and sponsored by H3C Technologies Co., Ltd and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, successfully concluded! The competition was a 36-hour Jeopardy-style CTF, beginning on January 20 at 10:00 HKT and ending on January 21 at 22:00 HKT.

In total, 52 teams from multiple tertiary institutions in Hong Kong participated in the competition and competed fiercely, showcasing their advanced cybersecurity skills. The winners of this year's competition are:

Champion: NuttyShell (PolyU)
2nd Place: Win or Mushroom (HKUST)
3rd Place: Tuning Machine (CUHK, HKUST)
4th Place: Capture the GPA (HKUST)
5th Place: Google fanboys (HKUST)
6th Place: Medium Brain (HKUST)

The award ceremony for the first HKUST Firebird CTF will be hosted on the HKUST campus in late February to honour the winners. Congratulations to all the participants!
