PhD student Lili WEI supervised by Prof. Shing-Chi CHEUNG has been awarded the prestigious Google PhD Fellowship in Mobile Computing and Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) PhD Fellowship. In the very competitive applicant pool, only 6 PhD students from Asian universities were awarded a Google PhD Fellowship and 11 PhD students in Asian universities were awarded a MSRA PhD Fellowship this year.

Google PhD Fellowship Program has been set up to recognize and support outstanding graduate students doing exceptional research in Computer Science and related disciplines. Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship Program identifies the next generation of research leaders through a unique program that offers a combination of mentorship, research, networking, and academic opportunities to promising young candidates. Each winner will receive a monetary award of US $10,000 and will be offered a 3-month internship at Microsoft Research Asia.
