CSE MPhil Student Received Grand and Gold Award of ICT Award 2018 Student Innovation Category
CSE MPhil student, Chun Ming AU and ECE MPhil student Chi Kin Benjamin LAI received the Grand Award and Gold Award of the Hong Kong ICT Awards (HKICTA) 2018. The awards aim to promote innovation in the information and communications technology and the presentation ceremony was held on 4 April.
This year, a total of 8 award categories were open for competition. Chun Ming and Benjamin participated in the Student Innovation Award using their FYP project titled UMix - A Mobile Application of Music Production Tool", advised by Prof Andrew HORNER, which was created during their studies as undergraduate students at CSE. Their project, UMix is an iOS based application aiming to provide a portable and innovative means of digital music production, such as converting human vocals into melodic and percussive music instruments. They have previously received the first prize in the Information Technology Innovation Section of the Challenge Cup National Competition - Hong Kong Regional Final, Hong Kong Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2017 and the CSE Best FYP Award 15-16.
