Firebird Cybersecurity Team Clinches Championship in IDFC 2025 Competition
We are thrilled to announce that the Firebird Cybersecurity team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has recently won the championship in the 2nd International Digital Forensics Challenge (IDFC 2025). This contest is jointly organized by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force, Dataport Technology Limited, the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and the Hong Kong Information Security and Forensics Society (ISFS).
Championship Victory in the Non-Law Enforcement Unit Category
The Firebird Cybersecurity team won the Championship in the non-law enforcement unit category, impressing the forensic experts with their exceptional skills and teamwork. The competition focused on practical cybersecurity challenges that mirrored real-world scenarios, testing both defensive and investigative techniques.
About the IDFC Competition
The IDFC (Intelligent Digital Forensics Challenge) is a cybersecurity contest designed to foster talent and innovation in the area of digital forensics and cybersecurity. The challenges are designed by the forensic experts of the Hong Kong Police Force. Solving them requires the participants to analyse simulated real cases under strict time constraints. The event aims to bring together cybersecurity personnel to collaborate and compete, promoting the best practices and enhancing cyber defence capabilities.
