CSE Faculties Received Total Over HK$ 7.0 Million in Two NSFC/RGC CRS Projects

Faculty members from CSE have received over HK$7.0 million in funding through the Collaborative Research Scheme (CRS) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2024/25. This scheme is designed to foster large-scale collaborative research across disciplines and universities in both Mainland China and Hong Kong, aiming to enhance research output and impact.

Among the ten projects selected this year, three are led by HKUST faculty, with two projects coordinated by CSE faculty members:

Project Title: Enabling Security Protection for Heterogeneous Blockchain Systems in Web 3.0

Project Coordinator: Professor Song Guo, Chair Professor, CSE in collaboration with Professor Weizhe Zhang, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen)

Project Title: Breaking the LLM Resource Wall: A Novel Computing System based on a Heterogeneous, Disaggregated Cloud Infrastructure

Project Coordinator: Professor Bo Li, Chair Professor, CSE in collaboration with Professor Hai Jin, Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Co-Principal Investigators from CSE: Professor Wei Wang, Associate Professor, and Professor Binhang Yuan, Assistant Professor

This achievement underscores HKUST's commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research and collaboration between institutions in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
