CSE Research and Technology Forum 2023 a Resounding Success
HKUST's Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) hosted its Research and Technology Forum 2023 on March 31, and the event was a resounding success. The forum aimed to provide industry partners with a better understanding of the department's research areas and the different collaboration channels provided by HKUST. Over 110 participants, including industry partners, alumni, HKUST staff, and students, attended the forum.
The forum featured a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Prof. Xiaofang Zhou, Head of the Department of CSE, who gave the opening remarks, introduction of the Department of CSE and an overview of CSE labs and research highlights. Dr. David Leung, Head of Smart System and Project Development at the Office of Knowledge Transfer (OKT) gave a presentation on the OKT's role in Creating Impact through Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development. Later in the event, 12 CSE faculty members presented the insights of their latest research projects, followed by a poster exhibition and refreshment session where 13 CSE PG students showcased their research works.
The forum was an excellent opportunity for HKUST to strengthen its relationships with industry partners and alumni. It also provided a platform for knowledge-sharing and networking, allowing participants to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and build new connections. Industry partners gained a better understanding of the department's research areas and potential collaborations, leading to the potential for future partnerships and joint projects. The event also allowed the Department of CSE to showcase its cutting-edge research and technologies to potential industry partners. The success of the forum would not have been possible without the support of the HKSTP Startups Alumni Association, and the CSE extends its sincere thanks to the association for its strategic partnership.
Overall, the Research and Technology Forum 2023 was a great success and demonstrated CSE's commitment to excellence in research and innovation.
