Dr. Jialun Cao Receives ACM SIGSOFT Outstanding Dissertation Award

The Computer Science and Engineering Department proudly congratulates Dr. Jialun Cao, our 2024 alumna and Assistant Research Professor, for her thesis titled "Towards Automatic Testing and Fault Localization in Natural Language Processing Systems." Dr. Cao's exceptional research has earned her the prestigious ACM SIGSOFT 2025 Outstanding Dissertation Award. She has been invited to receive the award at ICSE 2025, a top software engineering research conference.

ACM SIGSOFT, the special interest group for software engineering within ACM, grants this award to one recent PhD graduate who has demonstrated the most outstanding research achievement in the field of software engineering annually. To date, there have only been 15 winners of this award worldwide, and it has been more than a decade since our school last received this award.
