Dr. Yangqiu SONG Received Research Excellence Award for Tencent AI Lab Rhino Bird Focused Research Program

Dr. Yangqiu SONG, Assistant Professor of Department of Computer Science and Engineering with joint appointment at Department of Mathematics, received Research Excellence Award for the 2019 Tencent AI Lab Rhino Bird Focused Research Program.

AI Lab Rhino Bird Focused Research Program by Tencent aims to support research collaborations between the industry and universities. Every year, the AI Lab Rhino Bird Focused Research Program Seminar would be held to evaluate the projects and awards would be presented according to different evaluating dimensions including projects' academic research and technology application value.

The research interest of Dr. Song includes AI, data mining, information extraction, machine learning and text mining. His research goal is to use machines to understand human languages and eventually facilitate natural human language interaction and communication.
