CSE/CPEG Students and Dr. Gibson Lam Completed Oxfam Trailwalker Event
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Gibson Lam and three students from the CSE/CPEG department, Edward, Harry, and Matthew, have recently completed the Oxfam Trailwalker event in an impressive time of 28 hours and 53 minutes. This event is a charity hike where participants raise funds for the Oxfam Charity by walking 100km over the challenging MacLehose Trail within 48 hours.
The event is renowned for its challenging nature, as participants hike 100km over the demanding MacLehose Trail. Despite the strenuous nature of the event, the team members persevered and climbed 23 hills/mountains, including Tai Mo Shan - the highest of them all, scaling a total of about 4,830 meters. The trail was rugged and challenging, but the team was determined to complete it.
The donations raised through the OTW assist Oxfam Hong Kong (OHK) and communities in battling poverty to enhance their lives. These donations have also enabled OHK to implement various poverty alleviation projects. The team encourages everyone to learn more about OHK's work by visiting the Oxfam Trailwalker website.
We extend our congratulations to Dr. Gibson Lam, Edward, Harry, and Matthew for their participation in this year's Oxfam Trailwalker event. Their hard work and commitment to this cause are truly inspiring!
