Jialun CAO

Biography

Dr. Jialun Cao is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She obtained her PhD degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology under the supervision of Prof. Shing-Chi Cheung. Prior to that, she obtained master's degree from the State Key Laboratory of Computer Science, Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and bachelor's degree from Shandong University. Her research lies in the intersection of AI and Software Engineering (SE), including AI testing, AI/LLM for SE, AI/LLM for formal verification, and vulnerability detection. On these topics, her research outcomes were publised in top-tier conferences and journals, including ICSE, ESEC/FSE, CAV, ASE, USENIX Security, and TOSEM. She serves as a program committee member of top conferences such as ICSE and ISSRE, and a reviewer for top journals TSE, TOSEM, EMSE, etc. She was the receiver Huawei Fellowship, and was shortlisted to participate in the Asian Deans' Forum 2024 - The Rising Stars Women in Engineering.
