Lin LI

Biography

Lin LI is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). She received her PhD degree in Computer Science and Technology from Zhejiang University (ZJU) in 2024. From 2024 to 2026, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the AI Chip Center for Emerging Smart Systems (ACCESS), Hong Kong.

Her research focuses on multimodal foundation models and embodied AI, with particular interests in robust scene understanding, open-world generalization, multimodal reasoning, and efficient embodied intelligence. Her long-term goal is to develop intelligent systems that can perceive, reason, and act in complex real-world environments like humans. Her work has been published in top-tier conferences and journals such as ICML, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, IEEE TPAMI, and IJCV, with several works selected for Oral or Highlight presentations. She received the 2025 ACM HZ Chapter Honored Doctoral Dissertation Award (Top-ranked).
