Minhao CHENG

Biography

Minhao Cheng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles under the supervision of Prof. Cho-Jui Hsieh.

His research focus is broadly on machine learning. Specifically, he is working on adversarial machine learning and robustness of neural networks (Trustworthy ML). He is also interested in automating the tasks of applying machine learning to real-world problems (AutoML). He received the Outstanding Paper Award at ICLR 2021.
