The Department invites applications for a Lecturer II position in the area of computer science commencing Summer/Fall 2023. The appointee will play an important role in the development and teaching of computer science courses at undergraduate level. The appointee should be capable of teaching some of the following courses:

  • Operating Systems
  • Computer Communication Networks
  • Computer Architecture/Organization
  • Algorithm-related courses
  • Other computer science courses

Past programming contest participation experience is not compulsory but is a plus. The appointee is also expected to participate in service-related matters (e.g. interviewing student applicants, academic counseling and student-related and outreach activity organization). Candidates should have a PhD degree in computer science from a reputable university, and preferably with demonstrated capacity for excellent teaching at tertiary level or elsewhere.

The Department is a leading intellectual center for computer science research with a group of committed faculty with demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching. HKUST provides a supportive teaching environment, strong teaching support staff, and leading-edge facilities. Courses are conducted in English. Initial appointment will be for one year. Subject to performance and funding, candidate with outstanding performance may be considered for contract renewal.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
