Instructions for Applying to COSC

First, please make sure that you satisfy the requirements as described in the COSC FAQ "Requirements for applying to COSC". Next, talk with the UG coordinator of your other major about declaring a 2nd major with COSC and obtain their informal approval via email. Prepare a detailed study plan following precisely the instructions outlined in "Instructions for Drawing Up Study Plan for COSC Students". Send the study plan and a copy of your latest academic transcript to the COSC coordinator, Prof. Dimitris PAPADOPOULOS, to schedule an interview meeting. After the meeting, the COSC coordinator will send you an approval email.

Only AFTER you have finished the above steps, you can submit the online form for declaring COSC. The submission procedure differs depending on whether you are currently enrolled in COMP or in a different major. Please follow the instructions below.

For students who currently have a non-COMP first major

  1. Complete the Application for Additional Major (Online Form RR-47).
  2. In the Attachment field, upload the following documents in a zip/pdf file:
    • Email approval from the COSC coordinator
    • Email approval from your 1st major UG coordinator
    • Study plan
    • Transcript
  3. Click the submit button located at the top left corner of the page.
  4. Send an email to Mr. Michael LAU () to notify us that you have submitted the online form.

For students who are currently first major in COMP

  1. Complete the Application for Program Transfer (Online Form RR-6) to request a transfer from COMP to COSC.
  2. When declaring your second major, ensure to write the name of your second major as the first line in the "Reason for transfer" box. Specify the exact major you are requesting, e.g., "BSc(MATH-AM): 4Y - B43011" and not just BSc(MATH).
  3. In the Attachment field, upload the following documents in a zip/pdf file:
    • Email approval from the COSC coordinator
    • Email approval from your 2nd major UG coordinator
    • Study plan
    • Transcript
  4. Click the submit button located at the top left corner of the page.
  5. Send an email to Mr. Michael LAU () to notify us that you have submitted the online form.
