Abstract:

In this report, a new category of image based modeling -- image
based aggregate modeling is identified. Image based aggregate modeling
takes images as input and produces visual convincing results, which is
essentially super resolution modeling of aggregates. Image based hair and
tree modeling is surveyed as the proof-of-concept research on image based
aggregate modeling paradigm, while the research on perceptual equivalence
is discussed to provide an insight into the understanding of aggregates
perception.
