Title: "TOWARDS DATA PIPELINE OF DIGITAL TWINS FOR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT"

by

Mr. Haobo LI

Abstract:

Digital twins (DTs) are increasingly used in various fields, including
industry and smart cities. However, the application of DTs in the
environmental domain is still a relatively new and burgeoning field of
research. As environmental factors significantly impact human health, it
is essential to monitor, understand, and predict these aspects, with DTs
being a promising method to achieve this.

This literature survey provides a comprehensive overview of DTs for the
environment, focusing on the data pipeline. We begin by introducing the
origin and concept of DTs. Subsequently, we outline the data pipeline for
environmental DTs in three stages: acquisition, analysis, and insights.
The acquisition stage covers environmental data collection, while the
analysis stage focuses on data tasks and types. As for the insights stage,
the survey explores how DTs generate valuable information and deliver it
to humans. The survey concludes with a discussion on the challenges and
potential future research directions in the field of DTs for the
environment.
