Mr. Hongyu LIU

Abstract:

The creation and animation of digital avatars have become a cornerstone of
modern AI-Generated Content (AIGC), with profound implications for virtual
reality (VR), the metaverse, digital communication, and the entertainment
industry. Synthesizing photorealistic and controllable avatars that can be
animated across 2D, 3D, and 4D modalities presents a significant and
multifaceted challenge. Propelled by the rapid advancements in deep
generative models, the field of avatar synthesis has witnessed remarkable
progress in recent years. This survey provides a comprehensive review of
modern approaches for multimodal 2D, 3D, and 4D avatar generation and
editing.
