Abstract:
 
Mobile phone or smartphones are widely used in people's lives. Today's 
mobile phone not only serves as the communication mobile device, but it 
also comes with rich sensing and powerful computational ability. We 
believe that the mobile phone as a sensing platform is quite promising and 
challenging. In this article, we first survey new characteristics, 
especially the sensing ability, carried by the modern mobile phone. Then, 
we discuss how to leverage the mobile phone sensing to find better 
solutions for traditional problems such as indoor localization,wireless 
data transmission, human behavior recognition and so on. We also discuss 
brand new problems and opportunities introduced by mobile phone sensing.
