Abstract:

Crowdsourcing has been proved to an effective way to harness the human 
intelligence. To optimize the performance of crowdsourcing, several important 
issues need to be addressed, such as: how to effectively motivate the workers' 
participation and how to reduce the workers' error rate as much as possible. We 
identify four major types of data management techniques playing important roles 
in crowdsourcing, which are: incentive design, task allocation, worker 
evaluation and answer integration. In this paper, a comprehensive survey is 
made for the representative works in these areas.
