Abstract:

Logical reasoning has long been acknowledged as a crucial aspect of
critical thinking, often serving as a criterion for renowned public
examinations. With the growing demand for robust and intelligent systems,
evaluating the logical reasoning ability of language models has gained
increasing attention. This survey paper aims to provide an overview of the
development history of Logical Reasoning Machine Reading Comprehension and
a comprehensive analysis of recent progress in this field. Additionally,
the survey will compare the recent release datasets and their associated
works, and categorize the methodologies employed into a taxonomy.
Furthermore, the paper will analyze the limitations and challenges in this
research domain, and propose several potential directions and research
opportunities for future exploration.
