Abstract:

In recent years, extended works about future video synthesis have been 
proposed. Future video synthesis is a challenging problem because there 
are multiple possible future conditions. In this survey, we start with an 
introduction to the concept and background of the future video synthesis 
problem. Then,  we review previous methods from the perspective of 
supervised methods and unsupervised methods. Moreover, we introduce our 
future video synthesis method achieving state-of-the-art performance by 
modeling the motion of rigid objects using affine transformation. In the 
end, we discuss several potential research directions.
