AI Powered FINTECH at WeBank
Speaker: Dr. Vincent W. Zheng Deputy General Manager WeBank AI Department Title: "AI Powered FINTECH at WeBank" Date: Friday, 21 September 2018 Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm Venue: Room 3598 (via lift 27/28), HKUST Abstract: Artificial Intelligence has grown from lab research to real-world applications. At WeBank, we focus on two goals: scaling-up current banking services with AI and Big Data, and exploring new AI-based banking models. In this talk, I will give an overview of our recent exploration into the FINTECH space: to build ultra-high dimensional feature space for personalized recommendation and advertising, to empower a federation of organizations, to build robots into every aspect of banking services, to build banking-application-oriented speech recognition systems, face recognition systems, dialog systems and NLP systems. I will describe concepts and give examples of practical cases in WeBank, a first Internet commercial bank in China with 60 million customers supported with only 1000 employees. ****************** Biography: Dr. Zheng is the Deputy General Manager of WeBank AI Department, and an Adjunct Senior Research Scientist at Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC), Singapore.
