Multi-modal Knowledge Graph: Construction and Reasoning
Speaker: Prof. Guilin Qi Southeast University China Title: "Multi-modal Knowledge Graph: Construction and Reasoning" Date: Monday, 24 July 2023 Time: 11:00am - 12 noon Venue: Room 2463 (via lift 25/26), HKUST Abstract: Knowledge Graph is important to realize cognitive intelligence as it provides support of explainable knowledge representation and reasoning. Recently, there is an increasing interest in constructing a knowledge graph from multi-modal data, such as text, image and video. In this talk, I will first introduce background of multi-modal knowledge graphs, I will then introduce Richpedia, an open multi-modal knowledge graph, especially construction methods for Richpedia, and also introduce our recent work on knowledge representation learning in multi-modal knowledge graphs. Finally, I will conclude this talk by briefly discussing applications of multi-modal knowledge graphs. **************** Biography: Dr. Guilin Qi is a professor working at Southeast University in China. He was a visiting professor of Griffith University (from November 2011 to February 2011 and from June 2013 to July 2013) and a visiting professor of IRIT - Universite Toulouse 1. He is the head of the Knowledge Science and Engineering Lab and the director of institute of cognitive science at Southeast University. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Data Intelligence and an associate editor of Journal of Web Semantics. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Queen's University of Belfast in 2006 and has worked in the Institute AIFB at University of Karlsruhe for three years. His research interests include knowledge representation and reasoning, knowledge graph, uncertainty reasoning, and semantic web. He has published over 200 papers in these areas, many of which published in proceedings of major conferences or journals. He has published a book on knowledge management for the Semantic Web in 2015 and a book on Knowledge Graph in 2019. He has won the best-short paper runner-up award in CIKM 2017, and has a paper won the best-student paper award in ICTAI 2015. He has served as resource track chair of ISWC2023 and sponsor chair of ISWC2022, and (S)PC members of top conferences like IJCAI, AAAI, WWW.
