COMP 1900/COMP 2900/COMP 3900
Academic and Professional Development

Coordinator: Dr. Cindy Li
Email:

Course Objectives

  • To improve the communication skills of the students via small group interaction among a faculty advisor and students from across three years;
  • To allow students to get to know at least one faculty member in the department sufficiently well so that academic, and career advice can be sought readily;
  • To prepare students to take up internship, and placement positions;
  • To help students to understand the working environment via seminars given by industrialists, and experience sharing from alumni.

Course Requirements

In order to "pass" the course, you are required to meet with your respective advisor / attend a talk organized by CSE department at least twice during the semester, according to the following schedule (faculty advisors may modify the schedule and the meeting format for their sections as they see fit).

Please make sure you attend both sessions. If for some reasons, you cannot, you must inform the advisor in advance so that a make-up session can be arranged. Please be reminded that a "F" grade in COMP X900 will affect your graduation.
