Introduction:

CyberSecurity is known to one of the hottest job in the IT market. From many industry leaders, candidates who have practical knowledge in CyberSecurity knowledge, machine learning, Big Data, Cloud Computing would bring them to the new normal situation.

COMP 3632, COMP 4632 and other university CyberSecurity courses can only bring you to the door of CyberSecurity. Following paths would bring you to different pathways - Industry work, Research work, or Managerial work. There is no single answer to the questions. Thus, in the last COMP 4632 lecture class, we would like to invite 3 speakers from 3 different field in CyberSecurity to our partitions namely CyberSecurity Consultants from Big 4 Consulting Firm, CyberSecurity Researcher taking PhD research in HKUST and Head of CyberSecurity of HKUST.

Bio of Ricci IEONG:

Dr. Ricci S. C. Ieong, CISSP, CCFP, CCSP, Principal Consultant, eWalker Consulting (HK) Ltd, Hong Kong. He has over 23 years of industry experience in the information technology as well as more than 20 years of experience in IT security area specialized in security risk assessment, IT audit, ethical hacking and penetration test, smart card and biometrics system deployment and computer forensics investigation. He is the Founder and Principal Consultant of eWalker Consulting (HK) Ltd. where he leads the IT security and digital forensics investigation services. He is also actively involved in teaching computer security related course at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in HKUST.

Bio of Enoch CHOW:

Mr. Enoch CHOW, current Senior CyberSecurity Consultant of KPMG. He is the lead consultant in KPMG responsible for iCAST (intelligence-led Cyber Attack Simulation Testing), red-team exercises, network, cloud, web application penetration tests and vulnerability assessments. Before joining KPMG, he worked in PwC HK. He started his CyberSecurity journey since his university studies. He got his OSCP certificate before he joint the consulting firm. Now, he is holder of over 10+ penetration test certificates (OSCP, OSCE3, OSED, OSEP, GXPN, GPEM, eWPT). He was Dr. IEONG's FYP students on CyberSecurity field.

Bio of Ken WONG:

Mr. Ken Wong is a PhD student of Prof. Shuai WANG's team at HKUST. He holds OSCP and OSCE. He is interested in software security, binary analysis, and machine learning. He took COMP 4632 Class and have participated in a research project under Dr. IEONG. He was also the Firebird CTF team member and have also participated as data scientist of a FinTech Security Company after he graduated from HKUST Physics Department.

Bio of Charles CHOY:

Mr. Charles Choy is IT security officer and Head of CyberSecurity Operation. He has been working in ITSC for over 30 years and is the pioneer in establishing the HKUST IT infrastructure from scratch. He also established HARNET, The HK Academic Research Network which connects all local tertiary institutions. Mr. Choy took up the role of IT security officer in HKUST in 2016 and built the university CyberSecurity Office. He will share his experience on handling CyberSecurity crisis.
