Abstract

This report describes a system that aligns a pair of day and night 
gigapixel images, and provides two types of enhancement: 1) imposing the 
light of night image on day image and 2) generating a smooth transition 
from day image to night image. While imposing the light, the user is 
allowed to select regions that overlay is enabled. In the day and night 
transition, day regions and night regions are defined by the user. Since 
this system deals with gigapixel images, speed is a very important factor. 
This report will show statistics of the speed of the system and the 
several improvements made on the efficiency.
