Abstract:

Traditional job recommendation systems often fail to account for the unique 
capabilities of individuals with special education needs, leading to 
mismatched placements and high turnover rates. This project develops an 
AI-driven methodology for matching Special Educational Needs (SEN) 
individuals with suitable employment opportunities. The system comprises two 
core modules: a capability-based matching engine that uses nearest neighbor 
search with a custom scoring formula to compare user capability vectors 
against job requirements, and a demographic deep learning model that 
processes textual data through BERT embeddings. A user feedback-driven system 
incorporating HD-PI and SS algorithms refines recommendations through 
interactive pairwise comparisons while tolerating noisy or inconsistent 
feedback. The system is implemented in Python and evaluated using real and 
synthetic datasets.
