CSE FYP Project Received Bronze Award in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region IT Project Competition 2019

Undergraduates LAI Shiu Fung, MA Kin Lam and WONG Pui Yee won the Bronze Award in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region University IT Project Competition 2019. Their FYP project titled "OtherSide - An Augmented Reality Mobile Online Role Playing Game to Promote Using the HKUST Library", uses mobile application as the platform to help students of HKUST get familiar with the library services. Organized by the Guangdong Province Federation of Computers (廣東省計算機學會) with iProA as the co-organizer of the Hong Kong region, the competition aimed to recognize the academic achievements of ICT projects in the Pan-PRD region with the goal of catering to the region's need on ICT talents.

Their FYP project, advised by Dr. Ngok LAM, has integrated the latest Augmented Reality (AR) features with image classification technologies sought at providing players with an immersive experience during the process of exploring the HKUST Library. Their project has also previously won the CSE Best FYP Award and the Best FYP Video Award.
