CSE Research and Technology Forum 2025
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at HKUST recently hosted the Research and Technology Forum on 30 April 2025, which proved to be a resounding success. The forum aimed to provide industry partners with a comprehensive overview of the department’s research focus areas and the diverse collaboration opportunities available at HKUST. With over 120 participants, including industry representatives, alumni, faculty, and students, the event fostered meaningful academic and professional exchanges.

Prof. Xiaofang Zhou, Head of the Department of CSE, delivered the introductory speech, summarizing the department's labs and research achievements. The forum featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Dr. Jacob Mok, Head (AI and Electronics) of the Office of Knowledge Transfer (OKT), and Mr. Wenlei Zhuang, Head (Entrepreneur in Residence for Engineering Technology) of OKT. They presented on OKT's role in creating impact through innovation and entrepreneurship development. Following this, eight CSE faculty members provided insights into their most current research projects, which was complemented by a poster display featuring 14 undergraduate and postgraduate students showcasing their research accomplishments.

The forum served as an excellent platform for HKUST to strengthen ties with industry partners and alumni. Attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas, explore collaborations, and forge new connections. Industry representatives gained deeper insights into the department’s research initiatives, paving the way for potential future partnerships and joint ventures. Additionally, the forum allowed CSE to demonstrate its technological advancements and research excellence to interested industry partners.
